MOSCOW, November 7, RIA Novosti - No major transgressions have so far been registered in public places across Russia today, with the nation commemorating an anniversary of the Bolshevik revolution.
According to information provided to RIA Novosti at the Russian Ministry of the Interior, the situation is being kept under control.
Rallies to mark the Bolshevik revolution anniversary have staged in 773 cities and towns across the country, bringing together a total 320,000 people. Some 33,000 policemen are maintaining law and order on the rally sites.
Over 11,000 people took to the streets in the Urals area today and some 2,000 policemen were placed on alert here.
More than 90,000 people have reportedly taken part in rallies across the Volga area today. About 67,000 are rallying out in 135 cities of central Russia. Demonstrations and rallies continue in northwestern and southern Russia, with 23,000 and 67,500 people involved, respectively.
